On the evening of March 5, 2025, a young man’s life was cut short in Albany, Georgia. Justin C. Moore, a 22-year-old male, was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle along Radium Springs Road when the car was riddled with bullets from an unknown source. Despite suffering from grave injuries, including a gunshot wound to his leg and injuries to his face, Moore managed to make a desperate call to the police for help.
Emergency services responded to the scene, but the wounds proved fatal. The Albany Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the shooting. The initial stages of the investigation revealed that another person had been in the vehicle with Moore at the time of the attack. However, the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive behind it remained elusive to law enforcement in the days and weeks that followed.
As the investigation stretched on, the case grew cold, leaving Moore's family and the community searching for answers. Nearly a year after the tragic event, in February 2026, the Albany Police Department confirmed that there were still no new leads in the investigation into Justin C. Moore's murder. Of the 24 homicides that occurred in Albany in 2025, his was one of the 11 that remained unsolved at the beginning of the following year.
In an effort to bring justice to the Moore family, a $5,000 reward was offered for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. Authorities have continued to appeal to the public for assistance, urging anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in the shooting death of Justin C. Moore. His family continues to mourn their loss while holding out hope for a breakthrough in the case that will finally bring them closure.
