On March 31, 2024, a large gathering advertised as an 'Easter Day Hangout' in Woodbury, Meriwether County, Georgia, turned deadly. The event, held at a local venue along Highway 85 near Tulip Road, drew approximately 300-400 people, mostly from outside Woodbury, including the victim, Jaylen Jamal McGruder, a 22-year-old from Pine Mountain, about 20 minutes away from the party location.
