On February 15, 2023, a deadly shooting occurred in the 400 block of Mt. Pleasant Drive in Columbus, Georgia, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Da’Marcus Faison. The Columbus Police Department's Patrol Unit was dispatched to the scene at 3:56 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Faison lying in the front yard of a residence, with a citizen performing CPR on him.
