In the autumn of 2018, the life of Curtis Lockhart, a 57-year-old Black man from Columbus, Georgia, was brought to a violent and tragic end. On the morning of October 15, 2018, Lockhart was found the victim of a fatal shooting at his residence on Cusseta Road. The initial hours of the investigation gave way to a harrowing narrative of a planned robbery that had escalated into a deadly confrontation.
