Norman Lane, 65, male, was found shot to death inside his home in Columbus, Georgia, on the evening of October 6, 2025. Police were dispatched around 8:16 p.m. to a residence in the 6200 block of Brookstone Boulevard on a report of a possible burglary. Officers noted signs of forced entry and located Lane inside with gunshot wounds; a deputy coroner pronounced him dead at 9:09 p.m. The case was turned over to the Violent Crimes Unit as a homicide investigation.
