In a heartbreaking turn of events, 23-year-old Shanae Smith was killed in what police have described as a domestic dispute in her Lithonia, Georgia, home. Smith, a Jamaican national, was reportedly on the phone with her mother just moments before the fatal incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon. During that final conversation, she told her mother she was going to brush her teeth and would call her back.
Tragically, that call never came. Instead, approximately twenty minutes later, Smith's mother received a call from her daughter's boyfriend, 24-year-old Keire Schloss. In that chilling conversation, he allegedly confessed to shooting Smith, stating that he did it because she was planning to leave him. Smith was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head at the intersection of Field Drive and Chupp Lane and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
