On May 16, 2024, 25-year-old Area Barnett was found shot to death in the Collier Heights neighborhood of northwest Atlanta. Her body was discovered by a film crew at the intersection of Collier Drive and Harwell Road, near the Interstate 285 overpass and just a quarter-mile from Usher-Collier Elementary School.
