On May 17, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at the Avalon Apartments in Columbus, Georgia. The incident took place around 12:11 p.m. when police responded to a call at the apartment complex located at 3737 Cusseta Road. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Raquise Walls suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Walls was immediately transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he was pronounced dead at 12:42 p.m..
