On June 5, 2022, Rutravious Loftin, a 17-year-old African American male, was fatally injured in a shooting at a gas station in Columbus, Georgia. The incident occurred in the 5700 block of Buena Vista Road around 3:30 p.m. Columbus police responded to the scene and found Rutravious Loftin with severe gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries. The Muscogee County Coroner confirmed his identity and age shortly after the incident.
