Hernandez Hubbard, 21, a Black/African American male, died after a drive-by shooting tore through his family’s home in Columbus, Georgia, on July 22, 2025. He was in bed when gunfire erupted just before dawn in the 6100 block of Stone Way Drive; jolted awake, he sat up and was struck. Paramedics rushed him first to Piedmont Columbus Regional, then to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 p.m., according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
