Jerry Louis Walton Jr., a 44-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 13, 2022, in Columbus, Georgia. His death was a result of a violent incident that has since been the subject of an ongoing investigation. On the night of his death, Walton's body was discovered inside a burned vehicle. The coroner pronounced him deceased at 10:40 p.m., and the case was immediately handed over to the Homicide Unit for further investigation.
