On July 3, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the parking lot of a Walmart in Douglas, Georgia, resulting in the death of 2-year-old Nakyzi Odums. The incident happened while Nakyzi's parents, Sam Odums and Laileighauna Parks, were shopping for fireworks at a stand just a few feet away from their vehicle.
