On a summer day in Douglas, Georgia, the life of two-year-old Nakyzi Odums, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On July 3, 2024, in the bustling parking lot of a Walmart, a sudden "pop" pierced the air. Nakyzi's parents, Sam Odums and Laileighauna Parks, were just feet away at a fireworks stand when they heard the sound and rushed back to their vehicle.
