On December 10, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., authorities responded to a distress call from the 100 block of Park Place Road in Douglas, Georgia. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Israel Rivera Cruz deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. His 31-year-old wife, Jasmine Gonzalez, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at a local hospital.
