On December 15, 2019, Black/African American male Jabyo Lamar Bell, age 30, was shot during a daytime exchange of gunfire at the Amberwood Apartments along East Baker Highway in Douglas, Georgia. When officers arrived after reports of shots fired, they found the 30-year-old male behind an apartment building with multiple gunshot wounds; he was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
