On July 21, 2024, an 18-year-old woman named Damenica Roddy was fatally shot at a Chevron gas station located at 11230 Highway 36 in Covington, Georgia. The incident occurred when Roddy and two male companions, Kyler Durant, 19, and Keywond Gilstrap, 21, were in a vehicle at the gas station.
