On July 30, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at the Summit Hill Apartment Homes in the 1500 block of Bouldercrest Road in DeKalb County, Georgia. Andre Fortson, a 16-year-old resident of Lithonia, GA, was fatally shot in the breezeway of one of the apartment buildings. The DeKalb County Police Department received the call shortly after 9:47 p.m. and found Andre with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
