In the spring of 2024, a life was tragically cut short in southwest Atlanta. Tabari Walters, a 31-year-old male, was shot and killed on the evening of Friday, April 19th. The fatal encounter unfolded at the Continental Colony Apartments, situated in the Greenbriar neighborhood.

That evening, Atlanta police officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Greenbriar Parkway around 8:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Tabari Walters with fatal gunshot wounds. Another man, who was later identified as his brother, was also found at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the shooting was the culmination of a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation between the two brothers and another group of individuals. More than three months after the incident, authorities made arrests in connection with the homicide. Two 23-year-old men, Dentavius Roberson and Jaylen Patterson, were taken into custody. Both men have been charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. They were booked into the Fulton County Jail, where they are being held without bond.
