Tion Casterman, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on May 3, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred following an argument with his roommate, Teon Graham, who was 26 years old at the time. The dispute between the two men escalated over a financial disagreement involving a fraudulent student loan scheme. Graham claimed that Casterman owed him $5,000 from the scheme, and when Casterman refused to pay, Graham shot him once in the back of the head.
