On a Friday night, September 13, 2024, the life of 21-year-old Deshaune Hall of Marietta, Georgia, was tragically cut short. Just before 10:15 p.m., Marietta police officers were called to the scene of a shooting at the Rosemont Bentley Apartments on Bentley Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hall lying on the ground outside one of the buildings, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate efforts of law enforcement and medical first responders to render aid, Hall succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly gained momentum thanks to the cooperation of witnesses. People at the scene were able to provide crucial information to Marietta police detectives, swiftly identifying 21-year-old Tavion Taylor of Atlanta as the suspected shooter. Witnesses also provided an address for Taylor, which was located in the jurisdiction of the Cobb County Police Department.
Acting on this information, Cobb County police officers proceeded to the given address. There, they spotted Taylor walking nearby. A brief foot chase ensued, but officers were able to apprehend him without further incident. Following his capture, Taylor was questioned by Marietta Police. Based on physical evidence collected from both the victim's and suspect's residences, along with witness statements, an arrest warrant was issued.
Tavion Taylor was subsequently booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He is facing multiple serious charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime. Taylor is being held without bond. The motive for the fatal shooting has not been publicly released.
