In the quiet of a Macon, Georgia morning on September 18, 2024, a grim discovery was made inside an abandoned home on Pinedale Drive. There, the body of 19-year-old DeMario Markell Jackson, a Black male, was found, his life ended by a gunshot wound. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the scene by a 911 call just after 9 a.m. reporting a person had been shot. Upon their arrival, deputies confirmed the tragic finding.
