On October 14, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Carrollton, Georgia, resulting in the death of 34-year-old Gregory Martez "Marty" Patton. The incident took place in the early morning hours, around 2:30 a.m., in the Thomas Homes community of Carrollton. Police responded to a 911 call on 6th Street, where they found Patton suffering from gunshot wounds.
