James M. "Jimmy" Johnson, a 55-year-old white male, passed away on May 26, 2010, in Carrollton, Georgia. His death was the result of complications from a gunshot wound he sustained nearly 30 years earlier, on November 11, 1980. At the time of the shooting, Officer Johnson had been serving with the Carrollton Police Department for just under four years.
