On October 20, 2024, 36-year-old Shacoyta Baker was found deceased in a ditch along Flat Rock Road in Columbus, Georgia. Responding to a report of a deceased female at approximately 7:10 a.m., officers discovered Baker with multiple gunshot wounds. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced her dead at the scene around 8 a.m.
