On November 10, 2024, Mario David Lopez Gomez, a 32-year-old resident of Snellville, Georgia, lost his life to gun violence in Carrollton, Georgia. The incident occurred in the parking lot of The Reserve Carrollton Apartments on Lovvorn Road, an off-campus apartment complex near the University of West Georgia.
