Authorities discovered her body on Moccasin Gap Road near Lula after responding to a domestic incident. An investigation into her death led to the arrest of her son, Wesley Lamar Lewallen, who was 64 years old at the time and also a resident of Lula.
The investigation resulted in Wesley Lamar Lewallen being charged with malice murder, felony murder,
and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting death of his mother, Louise Lewallen. The case was reported as an active and ongoing investigation following the immediate arrest of the suspect.
Louise Lewallen was born on May 14, 1933, in Banks County, Georgia. She was a mother to two sons, one of whom, Blakley Dean Lewallen, had passed away before her. She was survived by her son Wesley and a sister. According to her obituary, she was of the Baptist faith and was remembered as someone who would help anyone and who loved her sons dearly. Per her wishes, she was cremated and laid to rest beside her deceased son.
