Ida Mae Johnson, a 57-year-old Black woman, was killed on October 18, 2021, in a violent chain of shootings that shattered Terrell County and nearby Dawson. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Johnson was found shot at 456 Stonewall Street in Dawson after authorities had already been called to Oak Street in Bronwood, where two other victims, John Baisden Sr. and Joshua Brown, were found dead.
