On the evening of March 22, 2023, Jalen Dyer, a 21-year-old male from Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the 4300 block of 3rd Street, Southeast. The shooting, which also claimed the life of 20-year-old Tariq Richardson, is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department as a double homicide.
