On Sunday, June 25, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a homicide occurred in the 3400 block of 22nd Street, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. Seventh District officers responded to the location after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, there were no signs consistent with life, and the victim was declared dead at the scene.
