In the early evening hours of a summer day in Washington, D.C., violence abruptly shattered the quiet of a residential street. On Friday, August 4, 2023, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 900 block of Division Avenue in the Northeast quadrant of the city following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at approximately 6:02 p.m., they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
