On October 5, 2023, Joshua Starr, a 37-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was fatally shot outside his apartment complex in the Southeast area of the city. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Stanton Road (also reported as Douglas Road in some sources), Southeast, D.C..
