In the late morning hours of a Tuesday in the nation's capital, tragedy struck for a young man from the Southeast quadrant of the city. On October 17, 2023, at approximately 11:55 a.m., 24-year-old Raequan Williamson, a male resident of Washington, D.C., was found inside a vehicle in the 4100 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. He had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident prompted an immediate investigation by the Metropolitan Police
Department's Homicide Branch. Sixth District officers were the first to respond to the report of the shooting, discovering Mr. Williamson upon their arrival.
