In the late afternoon of a December day in Washington, D.C., a violent encounter cut short the life of 38-year-old Michael Hansley. On Saturday, December 2, 2023, at approximately 4:06 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of Benning Road, Northeast. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man, later identified as Hansley, on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound.
