In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunshots shattered the night's calm in the 2700 block of Jasper Street, Southeast. On March 3, 2024, at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man, identified as 31-year-old William Hargrove of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police
Department's Homicide Branch launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case.
In an effort to gather more information, the police have reached out to the community for assistance. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for William Hargrove's death. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation as detectives continue to seek leads to bring closure to this tragic event.
