On March 3, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the 2700 block of Jasper Street in southeast Washington, D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of gunshots and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 31-year-old William Hargrove of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
