In the evening hours of Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the sound of gunshots broke the calm in the 3400 block of Stanton Road SE in Washington, D.C. When the incident was over, three people had been struck by bullets. Emergency services were not initially called to the scene; instead, the three victims made their way to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
