On the evening of Wednesday, July 10, 2024, tragedy struck in the Southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C., forever altering the lives of one family. At approximately 8:20 p.m., in the 100 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast, gunshots shattered the evening calm. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment building hallway.
