On July 13, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at Fort Dupont Park in Southeast, Washington, D.C. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Ambria Farmer of District Heights, Maryland, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Police responded to a report of an unconscious person in the park area near the 3300 block of Fort DuPont Drive at approximately 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located Farmer lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.
