On April 22, 2024, Valondia Norris, a 43-year-old woman from Jacksonville, Florida, was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Gregory Cove Apartments, located at 5601 Edenfield Road in the Arlington area of Jacksonville.
The incident was reported to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) after several residents of the apartment complex called in to report hearing gunshots. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Norris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the response from paramedics, Norris died at the scene.
As of the current investigation, no arrests have been made, and the JSO is still trying to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether it is an isolated event or if there is any additional threat to the community. Detectives are canvassing the area to gather more information, including potential surveillance video, and are seeking any witnesses who may have seen or heard something relevant to the case. Witnesses reported hearing a car leave the area immediately after the shooting.
