On the afternoon of June 17, 2024, 24-year-old white male Kyle John Prisco was fatally shot in New Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred near the intersection of Regents Park Drive and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard around 2:50 p.m. Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and found Prisco lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations revealed that Prisco had arrived at the Chase Bank at 19001 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, parking his white Mercedes Benz CLA near a black Chevrolet Camaro. Surveillance footage showed that Terrance Barnett Robinson Jr., 34, withdrew $400 from the bank's ATM and entered the Camaro. As Prisco left the bank, the Camaro followed his vehicle. At a red light on Regents Park Drive, Forrest Isaiah Jackson, 25, exited the Camaro with an assault rifle-style firearm, forced Prisco out of his car, and shot him multiple times. Jackson then retrieved a cardboard box from near Prisco's vehicle before fleeing the scene with Robinson.
In the aftermath, authorities discovered approximately 2.15 pounds of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana in Prisco's car. Witnesses indicated that Prisco was known to sell marijuana and was in the process of opening a shop in California.
Robinson was arrested in Ohio on July 3, 2024, initially charged as an accessory to the murder. However, further investigations led to upgraded charges of first-degree murder and robbery. He was arrested again in Marion County and awaited transfer to Hillsborough County. Jackson was located in Jamaica and deported to the United States, where he was taken into custody on October 25, 2024.
Kyle John Prisco was remembered as a hardworking and passionate individual with a love for family, friends, and various hobbies, including sports, music, and travel. He was a 2018 graduate of Wiregrass Ranch High School and had attended local schools in Tampa and Wesley Chapel. His funeral service was held on June 27, 2024, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Tampa.
