Detective Randy Scott Bell, aged 44, tragically lost his life on May 19, 1998, in Tampa, Florida. Detective Bell, along with his colleague Detective Ricky Childers, was involved in transporting a suspect, Hank Earl Carr, to the police station for questioning. Carr had earlier shot his girlfriend's 3-year-old child in the face with a rifle and brought the child to a fire station.
