On August 3, 2024, a dispute over a handicapped parking space at Hart's Landing fishing pier in Sarasota, Florida, resulted in the fatal shooting of Jonathan Lee Arias. The incident began when Richard Minor, a 66-year-old left-leg amputee, became agitated and confrontational after Arias, along with his wife and a friend, parked in the handicapped space.
