On July 17, 2023, at 1:43 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department received a report of a shooting at a Sonic Drive-In located in the 600 block of N. Chelton Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man, identified as Solton Heshmaty, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
