On a tragic day in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the life of 17-year-old Sylvio Anglada was cut short in a devastating act of violence. The Hispanic male was one of three victims in a triple homicide that unfolded on February 3, 2021, on Loomis Avenue. The authorities would later determine the incident to be a murder-suicide.
The El Paso County Coroner's Office confirmed the identities of those who perished alongside Sylvio: 20-year-old Joseph Viera and 19-year-old Pheonix Vigil.
The events of that day left a community in mourning and a family grappling with an unimaginable loss. Initially, one of the victims was transported to a hospital with critical injuries but sadly succumbed to them the following day, on February 4, 2021.
Investigations by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office revealed that the person responsible for the three deaths was 19-year-old Tristan Griffin. After taking the lives of Sylvio, Joseph, and Pheonix, Griffin then took his own life. Because the suspect also died at the scene, no arrests were made in connection with the homicides. The Major Crimes Unit of the Sheriff's Office investigated the case as a domestic violence-related incident. In the wake of this tragedy, Sylvio Anglada was remembered by his loved ones as a cherished brother, son, cousin, and friend.
