On a Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs, the life of 62-year-old Leonard Thomas Johnson, a Black/African American male, was cut short by violence. The incident unfolded on March 9, 2024, at a townhome complex situated in the 2600 block of Stonecrop Ridge Grove, near the intersection of South Circle Drive and Hancock Expressway. Responding to a call at approximately 3:30 p.m., police officers arrived to find Mr. Johnson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
