In a home in southeast Denver, a welfare check led to a grim discovery. Officers from the Denver Police Department arrived at a residence in the 9600 block of East Girard Avenue to find 25-year-old Vincenzo Decini and a woman deceased inside. It was believed that they may have been dead for as long as a week before their bodies were found.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner later confirmed that Vincenzo Decini, a male, had died from a gunshot wound.
His death was officially ruled a homicide. The woman found with him was identified as 19-year-old Hannah Anderson. Her death, also from a gunshot wound, was determined to be a suicide.
Investigators with the Denver Police Department are treating the case as a domestic violence-related murder-suicide. With both individuals deceased at the scene, the investigation concluded that Hannah Anderson was the suspect in Vincenzo Decini's death, and no further arrests were anticipated.
