Cassandra Peña-Romero, a 27-year-old dispatcher at Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas, succumbed to her injuries on August 23, 2023, four days after being shot.

The incident occurred on Saturday, August 19, around 5:30 p.m., as Cassandra was leaving work from the MEMS dispatch center.
