On April 7, 2013, Randy Chapman, a 23-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was killed in a shooting outside a residence in the 300 block of Home Street. Around midnight, Chapman and three others were standing outside when an unknown number of suspects opened fire, hitting all four. Chapman sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two other victims remained in critical condition, while the fourth was treated and released.
