On April 7, 2013, Randy Chapman, a 23-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was killed in a shooting outside a residence in the 300 block of Home Street. Around midnight, Chapman and three others were standing outside when an unknown number of suspects opened fire, hitting all four. Chapman sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two other victims remained in critical condition, while the fourth was treated and released.
Chapman had been active in the local music scene, performing under the name "c4" or "c4 da bomb." Authorities have not confirmed if the shooting was gang-related. The investigation remains open, and police are seeking any information that could lead to the identification of the suspects involved.
