On May 8, 2017, the Little Rock Police Department discovered the body of 52-year-old Tamela Jones behind a residence in the 2500 block of South Arch Street, near Roosevelt Road. Officers responded to the scene around 8 a.m., where they found Jones lying in the grass, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Authorities estimated that she had been deceased for several hours before being found.
