On June 23, 2024, 22-year-old Makylia My'Shunn "Meezy" Matthews was fatally shot in Little Rock, Arkansas. The incident occurred at 523 East 22nd Street, where police from the 12th Street Division responded to a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers found Matthews suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving measures attempted by MEMS (Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services), Matthews perished at the scene.
