In the evening hours of May 28, 2024, the life of 27-year-old Trayvone Owens, a Black male, was tragically cut short by gun violence in Little Rock, Arkansas. The incident unfolded at the intersection of 19th and Battery streets, where Little Rock Police Department officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 8:32 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered that Owens had already been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel,
Trayvone Owens succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Homicide detectives were notified and began their investigation, securing the crime scene at the intersection where the shooting occurred. The Pulaski County Coroner's office later transported his body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause of death.
The investigation into the homicide continued, and on August 6, 2025, the Little Rock Police Department publicly identified 25-year-old Joshua Jordan as a suspect in connection with Owens' death. A warrant for capital murder was issued for Jordan's arrest. Authorities have asked for the public's assistance in locating him, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
