Lee Battles, a 39-year-old Black male, was shot on the night of May 11, 2025, in the 9000 block of Auxor Road in southwest Little Rock. Patrol officers were dispatched at 9:42 p.m. to 9101 Auxor Road and found him across the street at 9102 Auxor Road suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was identified as a resident of Benton and was taken by medics to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Through the early hours that followed, homicide detectives began canvassing the area and reconstructing the moments that drew him across the street and into the line of fire. By the end of the next day, the killing had been formally announced by city officials, and his name and age were released, fixing the time and place of the attack with stark precision on Mother’s Day weekend. Memorial posts soon echoed those details, marking the date of his death and the city where it unfolded.
Weeks later, investigators publicly named a suspect. Police said they were searching for Marshon Conway, wanted on a capital murder warrant in connection with the Auxor Road homicide, and they released his photo while asking for tips that could lead to his capture. As of those announcements, authorities reported no arrests in the case and the investigation remained open.
